Training Tip of the Day 18-17 Fine Motor Skills

Training Tip of the Day 18-17 Fine Motor Skills. For years, and even to this day, firearms instructors will claim that you must focus your training on gross motor skills (large muscle movements), because under the extreme stress of a gun fight, you will lose your ability to perform fine motor skills (smaller, more precision type actions). A substantial majority of people simply accept this as fact and train under these pretenses. I have a couple of simple questions for those who claim you lose fine motor skills under stress. First, if that was true, how could you press the trigger of your gun? Second, how could you release the magazine? BOTH of the previously mentioned actions are clearly fine motor skills. The truth is, you can perform fine motor skills under stress IF you train to a proficiency level that is reflexive. That requires ongoing, focused training, drilling, and range time! Like, share, and comment your thoughts below. Come train with us for our special 6 year anniversary concealed carry course on August 19! Aside from  the unbeatable information and energy we will be doing gear giveaways! Don’t forget to get your copy of Fundamental Handgun Mastery in paperback or E book. Train hard and be safe friends!
