Training Tip Tuesday #17 Creative Training Solutions- One of the lies that we tell ourselves is that we would like to train more but just don’t have time. Sometimes we need to be called out on our own lies! Your time is valuable without question, but if you are a gun owner, training is NOT a commodity it is a necessity! So here are some tips I have and still do use to get additional training in when my schedule is packed. 1) When you initially put your handgun on before carrying, take an extra few minutes to do 15 to 20 draws. One week of that and you have done an additional hundred draws as part of a normal routine. 2) Combine segments of training with other activities. For example, I regularly combine dry fire training with my at-home workouts. As another example, an excellent shooter and instructor I know watches television at night while practicing handgun reloads! 3) Put a grip strengthener device in your car or office and during downtime work on your grip strength. These are just a few examples of ways to improve when you are in a time crunch. There are many more and you are only limited by your own creativity.
